TS colleagues,
This year's Preservation & Binding Roundtable is on Sunday from 3:00-4:00 in the Hilton's Eglinton Winton Room.
Our special speaker is Sharman Smith, Executive Director of the Mississippi Library Commission. She will talk about the challenges that Mississippi libraries faced during and after Katrina and their current progress toward rebuilding. She has straight talk about what we all need to know prior to major disasters to be able to reopen as soon as possible. Believe me, she has seen it all and she has compiled quite a few "lessons learned."
We have a unique opportunity this year in New Orleans, 2 years post-Katrina, to learn from those who experienced the disaster first-hand.
I look forward to seeing you.
Pat Turpening
Chair, Preservation Committee
