Future of Cataloging

I am very pleased to announce that the AALL Continuing Professional Education Committee has selected our AMPC sponsored program, The Future of Cataloging, to video tape at this year's AALL annual meeting.

The program will be presented Tuesday, July 17, 2007 — 10:45-11:45 a.m. in the Convention Center (EMCC) Room 206/207.

Selected in part because of its topical interest, and primarily because of its dynamic speaker, Michael Gorman, the program will be made available on the CPE web site on AALLNET after it has been edited.

Mr. Gorman, the internationally renowned editor of the Anglo American Cataloguing Code, 2nd ed. and many other publications on library education and cataloging, will offer his insightful views on the future of bibliographic control in a 21st century American context. Those who have had the pleasure of hearing Michael Gorman speak know that he promises an hour of wit, provocative statements, challenges and thoughtful insight into our profession. The audience will have an opportunity for debate during an open question-and-answer period.
